国際交流は、
一度きりの出会いだと思っていませんか？

光徳幼稚園は、違います。

幼稚園で出会い、
一緒に遊び、一緒に笑ったその先も

お手紙を送り合ったり、
動画でメッセージを届け合ったり。

離れていても、
子どもたちと家族との交流は続いていきます。

出会って、終わりではなく、
出会いから「つながり」へ。

それが、
「つながり」を大切にする
光徳幼稚園の国際交流です。

京都市南区にある光徳幼稚園には、
世界中から子ども達が通っています。

一緒に遊んで
一緒に笑って
一緒に過ごす

日本にいながら
世界と出会える毎日。

世界中の子ども達と
自然につながる幼稚園。

それが、光徳幼稚園です。

初めて日本の幼稚園に来る海外の子どもたち。

知らない言葉、知らない友だち、新しい環境に、期待と同じくらい不安も抱えています。

そんな子どもたちを、いつも変わらず迎えてくれるのが、幼稚園のカメ「ケヴィン」です。

静かに泳ぐ姿を眺めたり、エサをあげたり、「おはよう」と話しかけたり…。

言葉はなくても、ケヴィンは子どもたちに「ここは安心できる場所だよ」と伝えてくれます。

気がつくと、緊張していた表情が笑顔に変わり、友だちの輪の中へ。

小さなカメですが、子どもたちにとっては大きな存在です。

今日もケヴィンは、世界中からやって来る子どもたちに笑顔を届けています。

For many children, coming to Japan is a big adventure.

A new language.
New friends.
A completely new environment.

It can feel exciting—but also a little overwhelming.

One of the first friends they meet at our kindergarten is Kevin, our turtle.

Children watch him swim, feed him, and say “Good morning.”

Without saying a single word, Kevin helps them feel safe.

Before long, nervous faces turn into smiles, and those smiles grow into new friendships.

Sometimes, the smallest friend makes the biggest difference.

Every day, Kevin quietly brings smiles to children from around the world.

多くの日本の子どもたちにとって、海外の友達と遊び、学ぶ機会はまだ限られています。

中には、海外の人と接する機会が英語の先生だけという子どももいます。

だからこそ私たちは、海外からお子さまを日本の幼稚園に迎え入れ、同じ年齢の友達との国際交流の場を届けたいと考えています。

言葉が違っても、一緒に笑い、遊び、助け合う――そんな経験は子どもたちにとってかけがえのないものです。

言葉や文化を越えた出会いが、世界を広げ、未来への一歩につながると信じています。

For many children in Japan, opportunities to play and learn with children from other countries are still very limited.

For some children, the only international person they meet is their English teacher.

That is why we welcome children from overseas into a Japanese kindergarten. We want to give local children the chance to connect with friends of the same age from different cultural backgrounds.

Even when they do not share the same language, they can still laugh, play, and learn together.

These moments are precious, meaningful, and truly special.

We believe that meeting friends from around the world helps children broaden their perspectives and take a small step toward a more connected future.

アメリカの学校には無いたくさんの楽器。
特にピアノが彼の幼稚園留学の1番の思い出となったようです。

日本の幼稚園には、各クラスにピアノがあります。先生と子ども達は毎日ピアノに合わせて歌います。それが日常です。

So many instruments—far more than he has at school in the U.S.

Of all of them, playing the piano became the most memorable part of his kindergarten exchange in Japan. 🎹

In Japanese kindergartens, every classroom has a piano. Teachers and children sing together with live piano accompaniment every day. It’s simply part of everyday life.

Sometimes, what feels completely ordinary to us becomes a truly special experience for someone from another country.

私が実は一番好きな時間。

それは、送迎の時間です。

朝は、ママと離れるのが寂しくて
泣いてしまう子もいます。

でも、車の中でお話をしているうちに、
少しずつ表情がやわらいで、
気づけばニコニコ笑顔に。

そして帰り道。

「今日ね、こんなことしたよ！」
「これが楽しかった！」
「実はあれは嫌だった。」

幼稚園で過ごした一日の出来事を、
たくさん話してくれます。

子どもたちの気持ちが
ふっとこぼれる、この時間。

私はこの時間が大好きです。

My favorite time of the day is actually the drive to and from kindergarten.

In the morning, some children feel sad about saying goodbye to their moms and may even cry.

But as we chat in the car, their faces slowly brighten, and before long, they’re smiling.

Then comes the ride home.

“Today I did this!”
“That was so much fun!”
“I actually didn’t like that.”

They share so many stories about their day at kindergarten.

It’s during these moments that their true feelings naturally come out.

This short time between kindergarten and home is so special to me.

I truly love it.
